Robotaxi Cities

Robotaxi Launch Dates

When each robotaxi city opened to riders, and the launches announced next.

The next robotaxi launch dates in 2026 are a fourth-quarter target for Waymo in London, then Tesla's Cybercab rides in Dallas in November. We counted these dates on 1 November 2026, and every date still ahead is a company target rather than a promise.

  • Next upcoming launch: Waymo's London service, targeted for the fourth quarter of 2026
  • Tesla comes next: Cybercab rides in Dallas, planned for November 2026
  • A public launch is targeted for the Bay Area in late 2026
  • Waymo's furthest plans reach 2028, with Singapore and Toronto.

When Is the Next Robotaxi Launch?

Six more launches have dates before the end of 2026, and one more could slip into early 2027. Treat these as targets, not promises. Robotaxi schedules often slip, so a city aiming for 2026 may not have public rides yet.

Tesla's Driverless Ride Service by City

Tesla's driverless ride-hailing service started in Austin on June 22, 2025. San Francisco rides came next in July 2025, and a human safety monitor rode inside the car.

During 2026 Tesla rolled out "unsupervised" service in further cities, where no Tesla safety monitor rides in the car.

The same tracker names Phoenix, Las Vegas, San Antonio, and Jacksonville among the cities still to come, and no dates have been set. Further out, cars owned by Tesla customers could start joining the robotaxi fleet around the second quarter of 2027.

Waymo's Growth: Cities Serving Riders Now

Waymo holds the longest track record. It has offered fully driverless public rides in Phoenix since October 2020, then expanded to the SF Bay Area in June 2024 and Los Angeles in November 2024.

Waymo's Upcoming Cities for 2027 and 2028

Many of the cities on Waymo's list still have no public rides. Waymo announced Washington, DC in March 2025 and set a goal for 2026; in February 2026, it announced its return to Boston.

  • Tokyo: paid rides are planned for 2027, a plan first shared in December 2024
  • Madrid: riders are expected in 2027, an announcement made in October 2026
  • Munich: service is planned for around the end of 2027
  • Atlanta: from January 2028, you should be able to book rides in Waymo's own app as well as through Uber
  • Singapore: preparation comes first in 2027, with public rides following in 2028
  • Toronto: riders should be able to board in 2028, according to an October 2026 announcement.

Launch Dates from Other Robotaxi Companies

A number of smaller operators also offer robotaxis, and you can usually book them through Uber or another ride-hailing app you already use.
