Where Can You Ride a Robotaxi Today?

- According to Wikipedia, Zoox is testing in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Los Angeles. The company also tests in Phoenix, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington, DC.
- In Austin and Miami, only Zoox employees, family, and friends can ride. Miami has followed that rule since 23 April 2026 (The Charge Port).
- In Detroit, Waymo is testing without a driver, and only employees can ride (ClickOnDetroit).
- In Philadelphia, Waymo is testing with a specialist in the car (Axios).

Robotaxi Cities Announced for Later
Waymo's city list lists Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Portland as "Up Next." It also names Sacramento, Seattle, and St. Louis. In February 2026, the company announced a return to Boston, and it also announced Washington, DC for 2026 in March 2025.
According to The Charge Port, Tesla has Jacksonville, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and San Antonio on its list of upcoming cities, but no dates have been given. Uber has announced Arlington, but its page there says self-driving rides aren't available yet.
Waymo's testing permit in New York City has expired, so no public rides are available (Streetsblog).
Robotaxi Cities Beyond the US
- London: On 3 September 2026, Uber and Wayve opened the city's first public robotaxi service, and a safety driver rides in each car. Since July 2026, Baidu Apollo Go has also been running road tests alongside Uber and Lyft (The Charge Port). Waymo revealed its London plans in October 2025 (announced London).
- Singapore: Since 22 June 2026, people in northern Punggol have been able to book Pony.ai rides through the Zig app. WeRide, meanwhile, operates via Grab's Ai.R service, and public registration opened on March 31, 2026 (The Charge Port). What Each Status Means
- Ride today: the service is carrying public riders now, though some cities start with invited riders or add people gradually.
- Waitlist: service runs, and new riders join a queue before they can board.
- Testing: the cars drive on public roads, sometimes with staff aboard, and they do not carry members of the public.
- Announced: the operator has named the city, and service has not opened yet.
